The Homestead/Florida City
Chamber of Commerce has divisions and committees
designed to address the many facets of doing business in South
Miami-Dade county. Below is a brief introduction
of each, as well as their leadership people, missions
and meeting schedules.
 Economic Development
Council - Chair: Tony Garcia
Meeting Schedule: 3rd Wednesday, 4:00 pm Chamber Conference Room
The mission of this division is to develop and implement
initiatives that will enhance the economic development
of the community. These initiatives will: (1) Provide
for growth of current business. (2) Attract and
facilitate the development of new business. (3) Attract
clean light industry. The council will encompass the
areas of agriculture, transportation, tourism,
environment and education.

Financial Development
Division - Chair:
Al Dos Santos
Meeting Schedule: 3rd Tuesdays, 4:00 pm, Chamber
Conference Room
MISSION: The mission of this division is to secure the
financial stability of the Chamber of Commerce and will
include special events, grants, capital improvements,
endowments and other means of fund raising.

 Governmental Affairs
Division - Chair:

The mission is to promote a coordinated effort with
local, state and federal governments to address core
issues of local significance for community and business
development and retention.

Membership Division

The mission of this division is to promote new
membership and aid retention of current membership.

Operations Division
- Chair: David Peyton
Meeting Schedule: As needed
MISSION: To assist the Executive Director in keeping the
bylaws and the business of the Chamber of Commerce
within the guidelines of the board of directors.
Minority Business
Council - Chair: Hilda Hall
Meeting Schedule: 3rd Thursdays, 8:00am, Chamber
Conference Room
The
mission of the Council is to help integrate Hispanic
businesses into the commercial sector and general
community.
Naranja Area Business
Council - Chair:
Parsuram Ramkisson
The mission of the Council is to improve and promote the
economic development of the Naranja area.
Military Affairs
Committee (MAC) - Jeff Wander
Meeting Schedule: 1st Thursdays, Noon, HARB All Ranks Club
Mission: To provide community support for Homestead Air
Reserve Base military personnel.
Events: Golf Tournament, Military Awards Banquet, Veteran’s Day Parade
Tropical Everglades
Visitors Association (TEVA) - Brian Conesa
- Formerly a committee of the Chamber
- Professional director, volunteer staff
- Housed in permanent quarters apart from Chamber
- Provides up-to-date tourist information to visitors
